Did you know that piano can be a group activity? Join Group Jazz Class with Stephanie and join in the fun of learning the fundamentals to jazz harmony and improvisation with your friends. The group meets weekly to learn jazz tunes and practice improvising. You will learn to read lead sheets, how to listen and respond to other musicians, and practice jamming with a rhythm section. Once a month, a drummer and bassist joins them for a jam class to practice the real jam session experience. The class also frequently participates in community performances at places such as the Emerald of Siam or the Caterpillar Cafe. It’s a great way to learn, collaborate, and have fun with music, and you will leave with fresh ideas and tools to enrich your repertoire!
